School uniforms will now reach students |

The distribution of school uniforms for next year has commenced. The official ceremony at the Education Ministry was presided over by the Minister of Education Susil Premajayanth.
School uniforms for students of all Government schools and Government assisted schools as well as robes for student monks of state approved Pirivenas are given annually by the Education Ministry.
Nearly four million school children and over 35,000 student monks benefit by this programme. The expenditure incurred on the process is 1,260 million rupees. The transport of the first stock of uniforms to Jaffna took place today under the Education Ministry’s patronage.
The Minister said that they expect to send the uniforms to 94 zonal offices. The distribution of uniforms and text books is expected to be completed before the stipulated period.
