Possibilities for exchange of sports programmes and sports training opportunities between Sri Lanka Army and British Army are to be explored in the future through diplomatic channels in the UK as a result of extensive discussions that ensued when Dr Chris Nonis, Sri Lanka's High Commissioner for United Kingdom called on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake at the Army Headquarters on Thursday (21) evening.

The BOI signed an agreement with Aussee Oat Milling Pvt Ltd, to manufacture oats based products such as rolled/flaked oats, flavored oats, oats muesli, oats flour, oats bars and oats cookies for export. The company plans to invest US$ 10.5 million to set up a manufacturing plant in the Export Processing Zone in Mirigama.
