Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera concluded a successful two-day official visit to China today, during which he paid a courtesy call on the Chinese Premier Li Keqiang and also held extensive bilateral discussions with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi, as well as met with the Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Minister of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Wang Jiarui and the Minister of Commerce, Gao Hucheng.

Sri Lanka's inflation, as measured by the change in the Colombo Consumers' Price Index (CCPI) , declined considerably to 2.9 percent in February 2015 from 3.2 percent in the previous month on a year-on-year basis, the Central Bank reported on Friday.

The Colombo Chief Magistrate  ordered the BMICH to pay 180 million rupees to Dr. Samitha Samanmali who was disabled after a shed collapsed on her during the Deyata Kirula exhibition held in 2008. She had filed a case against the administration of the BMICH demanding a compensation of Rs.50 million.
