The European Film Festival continues at the National Film Cooperation, Colombo, Sri Lanka providing the movie lovers a rare opportunity of viewing exceptional modern cinema, offering 35mm-films as well as high quality DVDs.
The festival that has commenced on 1st October, 2011 is a collective effort of the European Union Delegation, British Council, Goethe Institute, Alliance Francaise, the French, Dutch, Swiss, Italian, Norwegian Embassies and Polish, Belgian and Slovak Consulates in Colombo along with the National Film Cooperation (NFC).
In addition to the adult premium line, a DVD film festival focusing on youth and children films will take place simultaneously at the NFC and Goethe Institute this year as well as in Kandy, Jaffna and Galle. It will offer high quality DVD films to a wider Sri Lankan audience including the film makers.
The three films: Almanya – Willkommen in Deutschland (Almanya – Welcome to Germany) , Chandani und ihr Elefant (Chandani: The Daughter of the Elephant Whisperer) and Blind Husbands are on show from 1st to 10th October 2011 at the NFC, Colombo 07.
