Following the court order to restrain porn websites in Sri Lanka, the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka (TRCSL) has instructed all the local Internet Service Providers (ISP) to take prompt measure to filter and block websites containing pornographic and obscene materials.

 

This follows the directives issued by the Colombo Chief Magistrate, Nishantha Hapuarachchi on Friday (24) to the TRCSL to restrain twelve websites which contained pornographic materials.

In a statement today (26), the TRCSL said that the Criminal Investigations Department will continue in assisting them to trace such websites both hosted locally and in foreign countries.
