US Assistant Secretary of State for Refugees Eric Schwartz has pledged the fullest cooperation of the Government of USA in resettling the civilians who were displaced due to the terror acts of LTTE.

Schwartz at a discussion with President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday (26) at the President’s house in Kandy highly commended the relief efforts of the Government of Sri Lanka to the massive number of civilians temporarily housed at the transitional camps in the North.

He further assured that his staff will assist the Government in the process of restoring the livelihoods of these civilians.

Ministers Rohitha Bogollagama, G.L. Peiris, Secretary to the President Lalith Weerathunge were also present at the discussion.
