Sri Lanka welcomes Indian Govt. representative Print E-mail

ImageThe Sri Lankan government will welcome the Indian prime minister's special envoy to discuss with authorities on the resettlement process of IDPs.

Government spokesman, media and Information minister  Keheliya Rambukwella told journalists on Tuesday that the government welcomes India's help to promote livelihood process of IDP.

When asked on the reports that Indian Premier Dr. Manmohan Singh has said that he is sending a special envoy to discuss the plight of the Tamils in Sri Lanka the Minister said that the Government of India has already committed with the grant of USD 250 million to construct 50,000 houses for the IDPs in the north and east.
