Post Master General M.K.B. Dissanayake said the work-to-rule campaign staged its employees yesterday was resolved with the mediation of the Minister and the distribution of mails has returned to normalcy.

He said that several Trade Unions staged a work-to-rule campaign based on a disciplinary action initiated at the Registration Division of the
Central Mail Exchange.

During a discussion held with Deputy Minister Sunil Dissanayake following the advice of Minister Jeevan Kumaratunga, agreement was
reached to expedite the inquiries with regard to the relevant workers.

As such the Trade Unions agreed to suspend their work-to-rule Campaign. As such the work has returned to normalcy. The Post Master
General said they would be able to soon clear the back-log of registered mail.
