The Emir of Bahrain Shaikh Hamad Ibn Isa Alkhalifa has sent 20 Metric Tons of Dates as a gift to Sri Lankan Muslims for consumption during the Holy Month of Ramadhan when they break the dawn to dusk fasting at Ifthar time. 

This consignment of Dates has been by sent by the Bahraini Emir on a request made by the Minister of Disaster Management, Mr. A.H.M.Fowzie, who is also the Minister in charge of Muslim Religious Affairs.

Minister Fowzie has thanked the Emir of Bahrain, the Bahraini
Government and the people of Bahrain for sending this consignment of
dates, thereby expressing their solidarity with the Muslim population
in Sri Lanka.
The Holy month of Ramazan is due to begin end of the first of week
depending on the citing of Crescent for the month of Ramazan.
The Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation will broadcast special
religious programmes during the Holy Month of Ramazan. (niz).
