Susanthika 7th in 200m Semi Final

Sri Lanka's top medal hope in the Beiking Olympics, Susanthika Jayasinghe failed to qualify for the 200m Final a short while ago, finishing 7th in a heat packed with pre-race favourites.

Susanthika returned a timing of 22.98 seconds.  

Veronica Campbell Brown of Jamaica (22.19 seconds) won the semi final ahead of compatriot Kerron Steward (22.29) and Muna Lee of the USA (22.29). Debbie Ferguson-McKenzie of the Bahamas (22.51 seconds) was the fourth qualifier.
