Rubber Traders AGM on Friday

The 93rd Annual General Meeting of the Colombo Rubber Traders Association will be held at the Taj Samudra Hotel on Friday, attended by planters, traders, manufacturers and exporters of rubber.
The Meeting will be the focal point for the rubber industry in Sri Lanka. The Chief Guest at the event will be Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, Jayarathna Herath, while the guest speaker will be Mrs. Sheela Thomas, who is the Chairperson of the Rubber Board of India.
This is the first time an international speaker is scheduled to address the AGM of the Colombo Rubber Traders Association. Mrs. Thomas will enlighten the audience on her thoughts on the future of the rubber industry and how SAFTA will impact the rubber industry.
She has served the Kerala Government as Director (Social Welfare), Kottayam District Collector, Managing Director (Civil Supplies Corporation), Director (Industries), Director (Census Operations), Special Secretary (Agriculture), Secretary (Transport), Secretary (NORKA) and Secretary (Information and Public Relations Department).
This is the first time an international speaker is scheduled to address the AGM of the Colombo Rubber Traders Association. Mrs. Thomas will enlighten the audience on her thoughts on the future of the rubber industry and how SAFTA will impact the rubber industry.
At present India is one of the biggest consumers of rubber in the world.(niz)
