    Bangladesh NDC Student Officers Receive Updates during Visit to Army Headquarters

    A senior delegation from the Armed Forces’ War Course (AFWC) wing of Bangladesh National Defence College (NDC), currently in Sri Lanka on a five-day familiarization tour as part of their NDC curriculum called at the Army Headquarters Tuesday (6) morning and exchanged views with the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva and senior officers of the Sri Lanka Army.

    The forty six-member delegation, led by Brigadier General Mesbah Ul Alam Chowdhury, Chief Instructor, AFWC is comprised of 4 Brigadiers, 1 Commodore, 1 Air Commodore, 1 Colonel, 29 Lieutenant Colonels, 1 Group Captain, 4 Commanders, 3 Wing Commanders, 1 Major and 1 Captain.

     

    Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva after extending a warm welcome to the visiting Brigadier General Mesbah Ul Alam Chowdhury, Chief Instructor Armed Forces War Course (AFWC) Wing, National Defence College, Bangladesh and the representative delegation at the former’s office, had a cordial exchange of views with the representative AFWC student officers of the National Defence College.

     

    Discussions centered on course materials, routinely taught in the Kenyan NDC and corresponding Sri Lankan Military Training Schools with special focus on post-conflict development in Sri Lanka and military training modules to suit fast changing world trends and military scenarios in the world.

     

    Exchange of mementos towards the end of the meeting brought the meeting with the Commander of the Army to an end. Major General Mahesh Senanayake, Military Secretary, Major General B.A Perera, Director General General Staff and Brigadier Aruna Jayasekara, Director Training were among senior officers who were present during the meeting.

     

    All the delegates in the team afterwards sat together at the Conference Hall to receive a full briefing on the Sri Lanka Army from the Director Training, Brigadier Aruna Jayasekara, at the Army Headquarters. Several senior officers were associated with the briefing.

     

    During their stay in Sri Lanka they are scheduled to call on the Commander of the Air Force, Commander of the Navy, Commander, Security Force Headquarters - East, Commander of Eastern Naval area, High Commissioner for Bangladesh and visit a few other places of interest. They will receive updates on different military roles during respective interactions with service officers. (Army Media)
