    Sri Lanka, Turkey to sign MoU on cooperation in diplomatic training, exchange of information

    Foreign affairs ministries of Sri Lanka and Turkey will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on diplomatic training, exchange of information and documentation later this month.

    The Sri Lankan government received cabinet approval to sign the MoU with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey during the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu to Colombo later this month.


    The MoU aims to strengthen and consolidate the close and friendly relations between the two countries by developing mutually beneficial cooperation on diplomatic training, the exchange of information and documentation on international law and other academic disciplines that are relevant to the practice of diplomacy and international relations in political, economic, cultural spheres, the government said.


    Sri Lanka Minister of Foreign Affairs Mangala Samaraweera has put forward the proposal to enter into the MoU during the Turkish minister's visit.
