    Comparison of Domestic Sector Monthly Electricity Bills after tariff reduction on 16 Sept 2014

    In line with the government policy directive on the reduction of electricity tariffs for the domestic sector, the Public Utilities Commission has announced the approved electricity tariffs.

     

    According to the President Mahinda Rajapaksa's instructions, the new domestic rates have been reduced by 25 percent.

     

    Table below illustrates the real reduction in electricity bills for different unit consumption by various blocks of consumer categories of the Domestic Sector.
