Sri Lanka Tourism welcomes 100,000th Chinese Tourist of year 2014 Featured

The 100,000th Chinese tourist to visit Sri Lanka in the year 2014 was welcomed at the Bandaranaike International Aiport in Katunayake.

 

Accordingly Ha Yeon and /Chen Yu Hua from Shanghai arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport by UL 867 at 5.30am this morning. Speaking to the media they said that they decided to visit Sri Lanka when they saw the publicity programmes and bus branding by Sri Lanka Tourism in the city of Shanghau.

 

Once taken the decision to visit Sri Lanka they had obtained a tourist package from a travel agency called the China Merchant International Travel.  Already the China Merchant International Travel agency in collaboration with Deluxe Vacations in Sri Lanka had sent 25 Chinese tourists including these two to Sri Lanka.

 

Another significant event was presenting Ha Yeon and Ms.Chen Yu Hua with a 5-day package including accommodation at a high class hotel and air tickets to enable them to re-visit Sri Lanka.  Ha Yeon is the General Manager of a reputed beauty products company.

 

According to Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, Sri Lanka’s Chinese tourist arrivals has increased by 140% compared to last year.(KH)
