    Japanese philanthropists donate Ambulance and fire engine to SL Army

    A group of Japanese philanthropists extended their support to the Sri Lanka Army by donating an imported ambulance and a fire engine during a brief ceremony at the Narahenpita Army Hospital premises on Saturday (12).

    The Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva, extending warm greetings to the delegation, appreciated the donation made to the Army. Following coordination done by both Mr Themiya Gunathilake in Japan and Mr. W.L.S.N. Siriwardana in Sri Lanka, both those vehicles were donated by Mr. Hiroshige Okazawa, President, Okazawa Juuki Service Co Ltd in Japan on behalf of all other Japanese representatives.



    The delegation handed over the keys of both vehicles to the Commander of the Army on the occasion and extended their greetings and best wishes.

     

    The ceremony was attended by Major General Jagath Dias, Chief of Staff, Major General Mahinda Ambanpola, Deputy Chief of Staff, Major General Channa Goonetilleke, Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, Major General B.A. Perera, Director General General Staff, Major General Sanjeewa Munasinghe, Director General of Army Health Services, Brigadier K.P. Sumanapala, Director, Army Medical Services and several senior officers.

     

    Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva presented symbolic mementos to heads of the visiting donors. The move was reciprocated with similar tokens of appreciation by the visiting team before the end of the ceremony.
