UNP mooted the move to impeach the Chief Justice

Minister Dullas Alahapperuma said that it was the United National Party who took the initiative to bring forward an impeachment motion against the Chief Justice Mrs. Shirani Bandaranaike.
Participating at a function held in Matara Monday (10) the Minister said that the General Secretary of the United National Party Tissa Attanayake announced to the media the allegations relating to the impeachment motion and thereby created some problems.
He said that Tissa Attanayake told a newspaper on the 10th of June that the United National Party will bring an impeachment motion against the Chief Justice.(niz)
