UNP conduct inquiry against Sajith Premadasa

The opposition United National Party is to conduct a disciplinary inquiry against the UNP Parliamentarian and former Deputy Leader of the Party Sajith Premadasa over his participation in the impeachment debate.
UNP sources said that the Party Leader Mr. Ranil Wickremasinghe has decided to conduct an inquiry against Mr. Premadasa since he was not listed among the members to speak on the impeachment and Mr. Premadasa has in violation of Party decisions taken over the 15 minutes time allocated for the TNA MP Mr. A.Sumanthiran to speak in the debate.
They said that the Party received several complaints against the MP's participation in the debate in violation of party rules and therefore, the party leader has decided to conduct an inquiry against Mr. Premadasa.
They also pointed out that Mr. Premadasa is without a position in the party at present as his tenure as Deputy Leader has expired and the party working Committee has not yet met to make key appointments to party's top positions.(niz)
