Ranil Wickremasinghe is alleged to be engaged in numerous acts to prevent the exodus of his Partymen, which is taking place on a daily basis.
Monitoring MP for the Ministry of Media and Information Manusha Nanayakkara said that the Opposition Leader, who has failed to discharge his duties appropriately in the case of Impeachment, is now conducting disciplinary inquiries to set himself free from the charges leveled against him following the peoples' victory in the impeachment of the former Chief Justice.
Addressing a media briefing in Colombo yesterday, the MP also said that the shadows of the LTTE were glaringly visible during the time of the impeachment process. The Parliamentarian stressed that he will never join with those who attempt to destroy the good name of the motherland.
He said that the United National Party having realized that the present government could not be toppled through public vote, and being in total disarray has resorted to a campaign of spreading false information in the country. He said that the UNP has fallen to the low level of orchestrating a mud slinging campaign to tarnish the reputation of President Mahinda Rajapaksa and his family members. (niz)
