President Inaugurates the Daduru Oya Project ^Featured

The multi-purpose Deduru Oya Reservoir Project was inaugurated under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Saturday (22). The expenditure incurred on the Project is 10 billion rupees. The Scheme will enable to cultivate more than 30 thousand acres of paddy lands.

Drinking water will be supplied to nearly 150 thousand families in the north western province. In addition 1.5 megawatts of power will be added to the national electricity grid. It is special that this project has been done with the local expertise and experiences.

Ministers S.B.Navinna, Milroy Fernando, Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, Bandula Gunawardena, Jayarathna Herath, T.B.Ekanayake, Wimal Weerawansa, Johnston Fernando, Salinda Dissanayake, W.B.Ekanayake, North Western Province Governor Tissa R.Balalla, Chief Minister Dayasiri Jayasekerea, Parliamentarian Shantha Bandara, Tharanath Basnayake, Niaml Wijesinghe, Neranjan Wickremasinghe were present.
