A massive demonstration to express solidarity with the motherland and to condemn pro-tiger terrorist moves being made by the United States and the several western countries to destabilize the country and create disunity among the communities was held today in Colombo.
The demonstration was organized by the National Organization for Protecting the Country and a peaceful foot procession with large crowds commenced from Independence Square at 9.00 a.m. proceeded via Baudhaloka Mawatha, Thummulla, Bambalapitiya up to Kollupitiya.
The marchers hand over a memorandum to Embassies and High Commissions of the United States, Britain, Switzerland, Germany, and Norway.
All the ethnic groups comprising Sinhala, Tamil, and Muslims and the religious leaders of Buddhist, Hindu, Catholic and Islam, State and Private Sectors, Trade Unions and Volunteer Organizations participated in the procession.(niz+).
