Massive crowds at Adhistana Pooja

An Adishtana Pooja organised by the Surakimu Maubima National Organisation to defeat anti-Sri Lankan forces and conspiracies with the participation of multi religious leaders joined by the people from all parts of the country was held Monday afternoon in Colombo.The crowds including members of the clergy representing all religious communities walked from the Nelumpokuna Mahinda Rajapaksa Theatre and converged on the Colombo Municipla Council Grounds. Thereafter the National Adishtana Pooja commenced with religious observance conducted by lecturer of the Sri Jayawardenapura University Ven.Medagoda Abhayatissa Thera.
The Thera urged the international community not to interrupt the country's forward march after achieving victory over terrorism.
The conduct of such a massive Adishtana Ppooja with the involvement of multi religious representatives on behalf of defeating baseless and unwarranted allegations made against the motherland clearly sends a message to the international community on the Sri Lankan opinion.
Moulavi alhaj Mohammad Laafir representing the Islamic faith, Rev.Ivan Perera representing the Catholic community stressed the need for the people to join hands to protect the country at this crucial juncture.
