President worships Sri Nagaviharaya in Mahawewa

President Mahinda Rajapaksa Wednesday (21) opened the Atavisi Budu Meduru, the Ranweta and the Ethpavura surrounding the Sacred Bo tree of the Sri Nagarama Viharaya in Mahawewa. Members of the Maha Sangha invoked blessings on the President by chanting Seth Pirith on this occasion.

The President offered Atapirikara to Parivenadhipathi of Vidyalankara Pirivena, Kelaniya and Chief Adhikarana Sanganayake of Colombo and Chilaw Ven Dr. Welamitiyawe Kusaladhamma Nayake Thera. North Western Province Chief Minister Athula Wijesinghe, State Resources and Enterprise Development Minister Dayashritha Tissera, Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga and provincial Minister Ashoka Wadigamangawa were also present.
