Lance Corporal Charith Kulawardane Kulatillake, who was disabled during the humanitarian operation against the LTTE in 2009 in Kilali, tied the nuptial knot with Savithri Sewvandi (18) of Mattumagala yesterday at the "Abhimansala" Army Resort in Anuradhapura.  Kulawardane became permanently blind and lost his left arm while caught in the explosion of an anti-personal mine during the last phase of the war in Kilaly. 

 

Army Commander Lt Gen Jagath Jayasuriya and his wife Mallika Jayasuriya, Ministers S.M.Chandrasena, Felix Perera and Deputy Minister W.B.Basnayake participated in the wedding ceremony.
