Special bus services will be operated during the forthcoming festive season to facilitate the people to visit their hometowns. The Sri Lanka Transport Board has made arrangements to operate 700 additional buses from 4th to 12th of April for long distance journeys from Colombo and return buses will be operated from many destinations to reach Colombo after the festival.
Chairman of the National Transport Commission Roshan Gunawardena said that 2,500 private buses will be deployed daily from 4th to 22nd of April for the convenience of commuters.
Meanwhile the Railways Authorities have also made arrangements to provide special train services on the Southern, upcountry, Batticaloa and Puttalam routes.(niz+)
