Remains of Lankans died in Korea will be brought today

The Chairman of the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau Amal Senalankadhikara said that the remains of the three Sri Lankans burnt to death in a karaoke club in the South Korean town of Busan will be brought to Sri Lanka today.

 

 

He said that the Foreign Employment Bureau has made arrangements to pay the insurance dividends of the three victims to their families.

 

Senalankadhikara also said the officials of the Sri Lanka Embassy in Korea have been instructed to negotiate the compensations for the three dead Sri Lankan workers from the hotel in which they met with the accident.

 

Nilantha Sachitha Sampath of Mahiyanganaya, Gayan Chamara Attanayake of Morawaka and Gemunu Jayakody of Gonapala died in a fiery blaze that engulfed the karaoke lounge of a bar in Busan, South Korea on May 05.

 

As per the investigations it has been found that the fire broke out in one of the 28 rooms of the karaoke lounge on the third floor of the six-story building and customers at the bar were unable to find exits due to the poisonous gases caused by an electric leakage engulfing the building.
