President was imprisoned in a 2x6 cell

When President Mahinda Rajapaksa was imprisoned he was held in a 2x6 cell and he had to sleep on a mat.  He spent most of his time swatting bugs and mosquitoes and had to walk in a queue with a plate in hand for his meals.

 

This was stated by the Acting Minister of Mass Media and Information Lakshman Yapa Abeywardene at the cabinet media conference held Thursday morning.

 

He said contrary to this Sarath Fonseka was given a large room, a comfortable mattress to sleep, hot water for bathing, a fan, an exercise machine and other facilities.(niz)
