Seminar on Sri Lanka's Northern Development

The Department of Government Information has made arrangements to hold a seminar to the media personnel of the Northern districts  to enlighten them on the development activities already carried out and the ongoing developments in the Mannar, Mulativu and Vavuniya Districts in Sri Lanka. The seminar will be held on June 16 at the Mannar District Secretary’s Office.

The seminar will be held under the leadership of the Minister of Industry and Commerce Rishard Bathiudeen and media personnel from the districts of Mannar, Mulativu and Vavuniya are expected to participate in this seminar.

Mannar District Secretary Sarath Ravindra, Mulativu District Secretary N.Vedanayagam and the Vanuniya District Secretary Bandula Harishchandra will provide detailed accounts of the development activities already carried and on the ongoing development projects in their respective districts to the media personnel.

Arrangements have also been made to take the media personnel on a sight seeing tour of the development projects, facilitating them to get visual accounts of the developments.

The seminar will also be attended by the Director General of Government Information Professor Ariyaratne Atugala, the Additional Director General of Government Information Chandrapala Liyanage, the Director of the Media Centre for National Development Mr. Ariya Rubasinghe and the Director of Government Information Mr. Wasantha Priya Ramanayake.
