Deputy Minister of Economic Development Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena scoffed at opposition claims about the government planning to establish a nude beach at the Calido beach in Kalutara.
Deputy Minister told the Parliament yesterday that there are no plans to set up such nude beaches in any part of Sri Lanka. He said that we don't have any nude beaches in Sri Lanka and neither has the government considered opening such beaches or held discussions in this connection. He also said that Sri Lanka has not even dreamt of setting up such beaches.
The Minister made these comments in response to a question raised by UNP MP Dayasiri Jayasekera.
He completely denied rumors in this regard. niz)
