Third Asian Youth Games in H’tota

Hambantota a coastal city in South of Sri Lanka has been chosen to host the third Asian Youth Games in 2017. This will be the biggest sporting event to be hosted by Sri Lanka. This was announced by the Asian Olympic Committee President Sheikh Ahmad al-Sabah at a press briefing at the Sri Lanka National Olympic Committee Auditorium in Colombo last evening.

 

The Asian Youth Games 2017 will have the participation of more than 5000 sportsmen and women in 12 sports disciplines, representing 45 countries.

 

Member of Kuwaiti Royal Family Sheikh Ahmad Al-Sabah arrived in Sri Lanka on 13 June 2012 and had a discussion with President of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa at the Temple Trees on Thursday.
