Sri Lanka and Chile sign agreement on visa exemption

An agreement on the Exemption from Visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and official /service passports between the Government of Sri Lanka and the Government of Chile were signed on 26th June 2012 at the Ministry of External Affairs of Sri Lanka. K. Amunugama, Secretary/ External Affairs and His Excellency Christian Barros, Ambassador of Chile for Sri Lanka resident in New Delhi signed the agreement on behalf of the two countries. W. A. C. Perera, Controller General of Immigration and Emigration, Mrs. Kshenuka Senewiratne, Additional Secretary (Political Affairs /West , UN & MA and Conferences), and Mano Selvanathan, Honorary Consul of Chile in Sri Lanka were also present at the signing ceremony.
Under the agreement, holders of valid diplomatic and official/service passports of the two countries can enter into the territory of the other and stay for a period not exceeding ninety days (90) without obtaining prior visa.
