Minister Basil Rajapaksa opens "Wisdom of Japanese - Culture of Kyoto" exhibition

Basil Rohana Rajapaksa, Senior Adviser to the H.E. President and Minister of Economic Development was the chief guest at the opening ceremony of “Wisdom of Japanese - Culture of Kyoto” exhibition held at the BMICH, Colombo on 13th July 2012.
“Wisdom of Japanese - Culture of Kyoto” exhibition is to be held from 14th to 25th July 2012 to mark the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Sri Lanka. The unique exhibition featuring artifacts – of both the handcrafting tradition and leading edge technology- that the spirit of syncretism and harmony in Kyoto has nurtured over the years, will be on display for a period of twelve days. This mega exhibition was organized Samgha Honganji-Hongaji Foundation, Japan, the Municipality of Kyoto City, Japan, together with the Western Province Governor’s Office in Sri Lanka and the Embassy of Japan.
The exhibition will be open to the public from Saturday 14th to Wednesday 25th July 2012 between 10.00 a.m and 6.00 p.m. and admission will be free of charge.
Most Venerable Ohtani Chojun, Chief Incumbent, Honganji Temple, Kyoto and President of the Honganji Foundation and His Excellency Mr. Nobuhito Hobo, Ambassador of Japan in Sri Lanka, Alawi Maulana, Governor of the Western Provincial council and Diplomatic also grazed at this occasion.
