The Norochcholai Coal Power Plant which is experiencing some problems is still under the trial period and as such the government is not losing financially by the disruption that has occurred in the plant as such aspects are covered by the performance bond. However, there are some suspicions whether these disruptions are occurring due to sabotage activities.
This was stated by the Minister of Mass Media and Information at the Cabinet Decision announcement media conference held at the Ministry of Mass Media and information this morning.
Responding to a question by a media personal, the Minister said that there is no dearth for unpatriotic people in Sri Lanka who will carry out acts without any concern for the people and the country.
The Minister said that the government will take all steps to restore power supplies and face the strike situation by obtaining the services of the retired technicians or recruiting personnel anew. (niz)
