Seychelles to adopt our “Divi Neguma” model

Seychelles has become impressed by Sri Lanka's Divi Neguma programme and wishes to implement a similar program in that country at its earliest with the objective of reviving agriculture in that country.  

 

Seychelles Minister of Natural Resources and Industry Peter Sinon has requested the Minister of Industry and Commerce Rishard Bathiuddeen to send a consultation team to Seychelles to advise agriculture officials in Seychelles on implementing a Divi Neguma programme in Seychelles.

 

The Minister was in Sri Lanka as part of the delegation of the Seychelles President James Michel.

 

The Seychelles Minister has said that they want to introduce the Divi Neguma model in their country to uplift the life standards of about 8,000 people and that they will name their programme also as “Divi Neguma”   .

 

The Seychelles Minister has told Minister Rishard Bathiuddeen that he was surprised to know that poultry worth of 2.7 million U.S.Dollars, Seychelles imported from Sri Lanka last year was produced through the Divi Neguma programme.  (niz)
