President to visit India on the 19th.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa will visit India on September 19. The Indian Prime Minister Dr.Manmohan Singh has invited the President to lay the foundation for the construction of the Buddhist Studies Centre in Sanchi, in the Madya Pradesh of India.
The President addressing the Heads of Media Institutions at Temple Trees this morning confirmed his visit to India. Earlier, Minister of Mass Media and Information Mr. Keheliya Rambukwella on Thursday that despite objection by pro tiger terrorist political fringe in Tamil Nadu the President will go ahead with his proposed visit to India as he undertook his visits to U.K, U.S.A. and Australia regardless of opposition by pro tiger terrorist elements.
Meanwhile, the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu who publicly opposed the President’s visit together with the Tamil Nadu Tiger Terrorist Vaico has now withdrawn his party’s opposition to Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapakse’s visit to Madhya Pradesh.
In a statement issued to India Media, Karunanidhi has blamed the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister
Jayalalitha for sending back the two Sri Lankan football teams, which was followed by the attack on visiting Lankan pilgrims.(niz)
