UPFA won the postal vote in Ratnapura and Polonnaruwa Districts

United People's Freedom Alliance won the postal vote in the Ratnapura District with 6, 549 votes (66.43%). United National Party managed only 2, 845 votes (28.86%) with the People's Liberation Front taking only 298 (3.02%).

The total number of valid votes is 9,858 and rejected votes were 564 making the total polled 10,422.

And also in Polonnaruwa District, UPFA won the postal vote with 4532 votes (59.10%). United National Party received 2835 votes (36.97%) and People's Liberation Front received 254 votes (3.31%).  

Director General of Government Information Department Prof. Ariyaratne Athugala, released the postal vote results of Ratnapura and Polonnaruwa District. Elections results issued with the approval of the Elections Commissioner and then inspected by the Director General of the Information Department, prior to being released to the Media.
