A campaign against a tobacco company

A signature collecting campaign was organised against a case filed by a tobacco company against Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena opposite Fort Railway Station yesterday.

The first signatory was MP Sudharshani Fernandopulle. Health Ministry Additional Secretary Dr P G Mahipala also participated. A large number also signed the petition demanding cigarette manufacturing companies to abide by the Health Ministry decision to make it compulsory to include pictorial warnings covering 80 percent of the front and back of cigarette packets.
