The four-member committee which probed the amputation of law student Achala Priyadharshini’s arm handed over its report Tuesday (12) to the Secretary to the Ministry of Health Dr. Nihal Jayatilleke.

 

The committee had recorded statements from 20 people including the medical staff who treated Achala and from her father.  Dr. Jayatilleke is expected to present the report with recommendations to Minister of Health Maithripala Sirisena today for appropriate action.

 

The committee comprised Medical Services Director Dr. Lal Panapitiya, Consultant Physician Dr. Narendra Pinto, Consultant Physician Dr. Tilak Kollure and Consultant Physician Dr. P. Ratnasena.
