Puttalam - Trincomalee, 97.1 km stretch of A- 12 highway via Anuradhapura is to be developed at a cost of Rs 12.8 billion under the Dayata Kirula National Development programme.
Mr.Basil Rajapaksha, Minister of Economic Development officiated the works on the carpeting of this Puttalam-Trincomalee Road (A12) on 28th October.
A stretch of 97.1 kilometers of the road is to be carpeted and the cost of the project would be around Rs. 12.8 billion. This development project was initiated under the Deyata Kirula National Development programme which is to be held in Anuradhapura in 2012.
Several programs have been earmarked to be developed to coincide with the Deyata Kirula annual event.
S.M. Chandrasena, Minister of the Agrarian services and Wildlife,Nirmala Kothalawala, Act. Minister of Ports and Highways,Shehan Semasingha, Member of Parliament and North Central provincial council members also participated at this event.
