NBRO identify landslide prone areas in Matale

landslideInvestigations carried out by the National Building Research Organisation (MBRO) to identify landslide prone areas in the Matale District have been concluded and 127 landslide prone areas have been identified, Through investigations carried out in areas of four Divisional Secretariats in Ukuwela, Ratthota and Naula it has been ascertained that 127 areas in 29 Grama Niladari Divisions have high risks for landslides.

Five Year National Health Plan to commence from today

national healthThe Ministry of Health has decided to commence the Five Year (2013- 2017) National Health Plan from today (01).  The Plan covers 24 sectors and contains proposals to minimize the usage of tobaco and alcohol among the people. The Planning Department of the Ministry has formulated the Five Year National Health Plan with contributions obtained from scholars and experts in the health sector as well as from professionals in other sectors.
