    Indian Prime Minister Begins Tour of Three Asian Nations

    New Delhi: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is beginning today an Asian tour that includes official visits to China, Mongolia and South Korea, the Indian Foreign Ministry has confirmed.

    Modi will be in China on May 14-17, in Mongolia on May 17 and in South Korea on May 18-19, official sources confirmed here.


    Hias stay in China will begin in Xian, capital of the province of Shaanxi and the home city of reisdent Xi Jinping, with whom he will hold a private meeting and then visit historic and cultural places in the region.

     

    On Sunday, he will pay the first visit by an Indian head of Government to Mongolia, will hold official talks with Mongolian Prime Minister Chimed Saikhanbileg and will attend at the signing of several agreements. He will also meet with President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj.

     

    As a special gesture, the Mongolian Parliament will hold a session in such a holiday to allow Modi to speak to the legislators.

     

    On Monday, May 18 and Tuesday in South Korea, he has planned to meet with President Park Geun-hye and attend at the signing of several agreements, as well as the Sixth Conference on Leadership in Asia.

     

    Modi will also meet with members of the Indian community in South Korea and will visit, with president Park, a renovated area in Seoul, as well as the Hyundai shipyard in Ulsan.
