The Japanese Embassy in Colombo issuing a statement said a congratulatory message was sent on Prime Minister Wickremesinghe’s inauguration following a free and democratic Parliamentary Election.

In his message, Prime Minister Abe said he intends to work closely with the new government to further develop the Japan-Sri Lanka relationship and that Japan will also continue to support Sri Lanka’s efforts towards economic development and national reconciliation.
