Sri Lanka win 2 Gold and One Silver at 15th AJAC

Yesterday was a bright day for the Sri Lankan athletes participating in 15th Asian Junior Athletic Championship at the Sugathadas Stadium in Colombo. Sri Lanka won two gold medals and one silver medal.
Shivanthi Rathnayake won the 1st Gold medal for Sri Lanka by winning the Women’s 400 meters event.
Dulaj Madushanka won the second Gold medal at the Men’s 400 meters event while Nimesha Siriwardena won the Silver medal in the Women’s High Jump event.
At present China is leading the medals table with 6 Gold Medals, 5 Silver Medals and one bronze medal. Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) is in the second place with 4 Gold Medals. Sri Lanka is now in the 3rd place with 2 Gold Medals and One Silver medal, while Japan has won one Gold Medal, 6 Silver Medals and 2 bronze medals. India has won one Gold, one Silver and two bronze medals and South Korea has won one Gold, one Silver and one bronze medal.
Other countries that has won medals so far are: Iran – one Gold and two bronze medals, Kazakhastan – one bronze medal, North Korea – one bronze medal, Malaysia – one bronze medal, Qatar – One Gold and one bronze medal, Saudi Arabia – One Silver and two bronze medals, Singapore – one bronze medal, Thailand – One Silver and two bronze medal, Kuwait – One Silver Medal.
