The 2nd Test played between Sri Lanka and Pakistan ended in a draw yesterday. In this Test Match too Kumara Sangakkara missed his double century as it was in the first Test played in Galle.
Pakistan batting first scored 551 for the loss of 6 wickets and allowed the Sri Lanka team to bat. In this Pakistani innings Mohamed Hafeez scored 196 runs and Azhar Ali scored 157 runs. Rangana Herath took 3 wickets for 164 runs. Angelo Mathews and Suraj Randiv took one wicket each.
Sri Lanka was all out for 391 runs. Sangakkara scored 192 runs and Tillekeratne Dilshan scored 121 runs. Junaid Khan, who was named as the Man of the Match of this Test, took 5 wickets for 73 runs. Abdur Rahman took 4 wickes for 78 runs. Sayeed Ajmal took one wicket.
In the second innings Pakistan scored 100 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. At the close of play in the final day yesterday Sri Lanka was 86 for the loss of 2 wickets. Several hours of play in this test match was interrupted due to rain. Accordingly the match ended in a draw.
Sri Lanka is leading the series with 1-Nil. The third and final test will be played in the Pallekele International Stadium starting on the 8th of this month. (niz)
