India Beat Sri Lanka By 21 Runs In First ODI

India beat Sri Lanka by 21 runs in the first One Day International match played in Hambantota yesterday.

 

Virat Kohli top scored for the Indians with 106 runs and Sangakkara’s 14th hundred had been a wonderful solo performance. Chasing a target of 315 runs to win, Sri Lanka finished with 293 for 9.

 

Hambantota will also host the second one-dayer on July 24, while the last three matches will be played in Colombo (July 28 and 31) and Pallekele (Aug. 4). The one-day series will be followed by a one-off Twenty20 international in Pallekele on Aug. 7.
