Police seek public help to find a suspect linked to Easter bombings

Police Headquarters requests the general public to help the Police to trace the whereabouts of a suspect, in connection with the Easter Sunday bomb attacks. Police say the suspect was an accomplice in the purchase and the modification of the van used by the suicide bomber to arrive at the Kochchikade St. Anthony's Church.

The police said the registered owner of the vehicle was confirmed as the suicide bomber who blew up the Kingsbury Hotel. The person sought by the police has accompanied the Kingsbury suicide bomber to make the modifications to the van. The explosive laden van parked in Kochchikade was then safely blasted by the security forces.

According to the evidence gathered, the police had prepared four sketches of the suspect, who is said to be about 35-40 years old.A police sketch of the suspect has been distributed to the media. Any information regarding the suspect can be communicated to the Police through Tel Nos 011-2422176 / 011-2392900, Police Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekara said.
