Financial Contribution from the Symphony Orchestra of Sri Lanka to the ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ Fund

The Symphony Orchestra of Sri Lanka (SOSL) has donated a sum of LKR. 01 million to the Government’s ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ Fund, established to provide relief to those affected by Cyclone ‘Ditwah’.

The relevant cheque was handed over yesterday (20) at the Presidential Secretariat by the  Chairperson of Symphony Orchestra of Sri Lanka, Ms Sharmini Wettimuny, to Senior Additional Secretary to the President, Mr Russell Aponsu.

This donation was made from the proceeds of the SOSL Christmas Concert held at Ladies’ College Colombo. The contribution was jointly facilitated by the Symphony Orchestra of Sri Lanka, together with its partners, Ladies’ College Colombo, Unique Sounds and Designs by Paala.

Representatives of the Symphony Orchestra of Sri Lanka, Mr Neomal Weerakoon and Mr Nishantha Warnakulasuriya were also present at the occasion.
