The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has issued an early landslide warning for several Divisional Secretariat Divisions (DSDs) across five districts due to the ongoing adverse weather conditions affecting parts of the island.
The warning will remain in force until 9.00 p.m. today (11), according to the NBRO.
Level 1 (Yellow) landslide alerts urging residents to stay alert and vigilant as follows,
Badulla District: Passara DSD and nearby areas
Kurunegala District: Ridigama DSD and nearby areas
Matale District: Naula DSD and nearby areas
Monaragala District: Ambanganga Korale, Rattota, Badalkumbura, and Wellawaya DSDs and surrounding areas
Ratnapura District: Godakawela DSD and nearby areas
Residents in these regions have been advised to exercise caution, especially during periods of heavy rainfall.
