The Most Venerable Narampanawe Ananda Thera, Deputy Chief Prelate of the Asgiri Chapter of the Maha Vihara tradition of the Siam Maha Nikaya, has been appointed as the new Chancellor of the University of Kelaniya.
The letter of appointment was formally presented to the Most Venerable Narampanawe Ananda Thera by the Secretary to the President, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, at the Presidential Secretariat this afternoon (2 July).
The appointment was made by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and takes effect from today (2 July).
