The Meteorology Department forecast showers exceeding 75 mm in several areas including Sabaragamuwa province and in Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts.
The Department said showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Sabaragamuwa and Western provinces and in Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
It said several spells of showers is expected in North-western province.
Strong winds of about (40-50) kmph can be expected at times over North-central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central and North-western provinces, the department said.
