The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has generated revenue of Rs. 1 billion within six days by providing transport services during the Sinhala and Tamil New Year season, Chairman Sajeewa Nandana Kanagaratne said.
He noted that April 11 marked the highest single-day income in SLTB history, with earnings reaching Rs. 213 million.
Meanwhile, the National Transport Commission stated that special bus services have been launched from today to facilitate passengers returning to Colombo and other major cities.
Over 400,000 passengers had traveled from Colombo to their hometowns using private buses, and the Commission urged the public to report any overcharging via the hotline 1955.
